Overview
This class is designed for inpatient and ambulatory nurses, monitor technicians, and cardiovascular lab technicians who use 12-lead ECGs in their clinical practice.  This class will discuss:
  • the anatomy of a 12-lead ECG;
  • how ECG leads monitor electrical activity; and,
  • how to identify abnormalities such as ST elevation and depression, bundle branch blocks, and aberrancy. 

Participants will practice with 12-lead ECG interpretation and developing a plan of care for a patient with a cardiac abnormality. Attendees should have a basic knowledge of rhythm recognition prior to attending.



Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Compare and contrast the representation of electrical activity as seen on a 12-lead ECG
  2. Differentiate common 12-lead ECG abnormalities
  3. Develop a plan of care for a patient utilizing 12-lead ECG results

Registration
There are no promotional / discount codes for this class.

Non Virginia Mason Professional:  $100

Payment is required at time of registration.  


Accreditation

Virginia Mason is a provider of continuing education contact hours.  Provider is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing.  Provider #CEP15905 for 3.75 Contact Hours.  RN contact hour certificates must be retained by the licensee/attendee for a period of 4 years after the course ends.

Virginia Mason CNE reserves the right to change the course content, schedule, agenda or speaker as needed.  

Due to COVID-19 Precaution Guidelines, you will be asked to wear a medical mask and protective eyewear (goggles) during the training.  Please print your own goggles with you. 

Cancellations:  Contact the CNE office if you are unable to attend this event. No Show = No Refund

Refund Policy:  Refunds will be made for a fee of $25.00 if written notice of cancellation is received at least 14 calendar days prior to the activity.  

Disability Accommodations:  Please notify the CNE office in advance if you have physical limitations needing accommodation.  

Parking: Parking is not included with registration. Virginia Mason's downtown parking facilities are limited and reserved for patients, therefore we offer this map of public lots with walking routes to the Lindeman Pavilion.
