Overview

The Temporal Bone Lab provides a unique opportunity for otolaryngologists to increase their knowledge and competence in chronic ear surgery. Day One begins with direct surgical observation of related procedures, followed by laboratory dissections and drilling simulations of the temporal bone. On Day Two participants attend Current Management Techniques in Otology and Otolaryngology (included in your registration) and return to the lab in the afternoon. 


Through laboratory dissections, participants will gain a better understanding of the anatomy of the facial nerve. Dissections will mirror surgical procedures of the ear with hands-on practice of tympanoplasty, ossiculoplasty, stapedotomy, cochlear implant, mastoidectomy and canalplasty.

Teaching methods include surgical observation, simulation, lectures and hands-on experience.

This course is appropriate for the practicing otolaryngologist, fellows in training and residents.


Registration

Register by September 1, 2017 and save $50.

Tuition:
Early enrollment: $400

After Sept. 1: $450

Enrollment in the Temporal Bone Lab, includes the "Current Management Techniques in Otology & Otolaryngology" course.

Lab space is limited.

The Virginia Mason Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
