Overview

The Updates in Gynecology: Menopause, HPV, Endometriosis and Beyond course offers a concise and comprehensive update on current, high-priority topics in Gynecology. Key areas of focus include the latest in Pap/HPV screening and cervical cancer prevention; practical approaches to menopause & hormonal therapy, including patient selection and cardiovascular considerations; essential insights into sexual health and low libido; a dedicated primer on endometriosis and adenomyosis; innovative strategies for chronic pelvic pain, and a review of fibroids with an emphasis on uterine-sparing surgical procedures.

Attendees will hear from experts in general gynecology as well as specialists in niche areas such as female sexual medicine, vulvovaginal health, and gynecologic oncology, who will also highlight the latest advancements in minimally invasive surgery and uterine-sparing approaches as applied to various conditions.

 

This course is an efficient way for primary care providers to refresh and update their GYN knowledge, providing actionable pearls for immediate practice integration.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the spectrum of symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause and apply practical management strategies in primary care
  2. Apply practical strategies to diagnose and manage common vulvovaginal conditions, including genitourinary syndrome of menopause in primary care
  3. Review diagnosis of low libido and desire discrepancy and discuss therapeutic approaches to libido complaints
  4. Apply The American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology recommendations to your care
  5. Discuss recommendations for menopausal hormone therapy, as well as hormone and nonhormonal options for those with breast cancer or cardiovascular concerns
  6. Identify the unique cardiovascular risk factors prevalent in midlife women, such as perimenopausal hormonal changes, sleep disturbances, and autoimmune conditions
  7. Develop a differential diagnosis and initial workup for early pregnancy bleeding, recognizing dangerous
  8. Review latest evidence for treatment and diagnosis of endometriosis and adenomyosis
  9. Discuss diagnosis and typical symptoms of fibroids and review treatment options with an emphasis on uterine sparing procedures
  10. Review clinical pearls for evaluating and treating chronic pelvic pain, as well as tips to build a care team for your patients
  11. Explain impact of age on fertility and discuss options for fertility preservation
  12. Recommend useful apps for gynecologic problems for providers and apps patients may use to track cycles and pregnancy
